The Chicago JBoss User Group Message Board › Follow up from September JBUG
I hope you enjoyed the presentation from OC Systems about RTI. In case anyone is interested in the product or learning more about RTI, below is a message from Georgia Ferretti of OC Systems:
Just wanted to reach out to see if there was some interest, following the RTI/OC Systems presentation in Chicago on September 9, 2012, by Steve North, product manager – RTI.
As a refresher, RTI (RootCause Transaction Instrumentation) is an APM (Application Performance Management) solution for Red Hat's JBoss Middleware stack. RTI handles profiling, alerting & deep dive diagnostics and can be used across the software lifecycle. RTI works on JBoss directly, or as a fully integrated plug in to JBoss Operations Network. RTI is competitively priced, subscription based and is offered with both standard and premium support.
We took some notes at the user groups, and wanted to address a few questions…
Some of you were wondering how a consultant would use RTI internally or at a customer site; what we would suggest is, take a look at RTI and if this seems like a good fit for short term projects, we can probably work something out as a short-term license and if this was something a client would be interested in continuing to use after a short term project was over, then we could sell RTI to them directly or through one of our resellers, distributors. For system requirements – please review: http://rtiperformance.com/system-requirements.
Also, there were some questions about using RTI in the cloud; RTI does operate in scalable cloud environments and we are investigating licensing models to cover various cloud configurations. Let me know if there are any specific questions around this topic.

Many thanks in advance and hope to hear back from you soon!
