Elasticsearch seems to be taking over the world. It's consistently one of the top trending JVM projects on Github. Organizations like Mozilla, Foursquare, and even Github itself use it to index terabytes of user data for searching and analysis. In this talk, Cedric Hurst
and the Spantree Technology Group will outline how they've used it on various projects to achieve some pretty amazing search-driven interfaces, including Chicago.com. Spantree will cover
everything from mapping, indexing, to query with the Java and REST APIs. If there's
time we may even touch on some administrative topics like clustering and replication.
This will be a hands-on lab complete with a try-it-yourself vagrant instance and an API REPL, so be sure to bring your laptops.
