Guitarra Azul @ Maya Del Sol, 9pm, No cover!

For those members who didn't get a chance to see the Latin-based group Guitarra Azul (http://www.guitarraazul.com) at the recent meetup event @ Katrinas, they will be performing at Maya Del Sol (http://www.mayadelsol.com) in Oak Park this coming Friday, 3/1, 9pm -- no cover!

"The all-original music of Guitarra Azul is hard to compartmentalize, but perhaps is best described as Rumba Flamenco and Latin Jazz with many international influences. Rumba Flamenco retains the heart of more traditional Spanish flamenco music, the flamenco guitar, yet shows a world influence by adding the use of bass, drums, and a variety of percussion instruments." - Chicago Jazz Magazine

You can check them out @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCBna2rREmc

I have reserved some tables - but they cannot guarantee they will be in the band area - but will try their best. They do, however, have a large bar in the area where the band sets up. Parking is relatively easy (but read the signs/meters! - OP is notorious for handing out parking tickets). Valet parking is available for $5. Also, Maya is only steps away from the CTA Green Line 'Oak Park' train stop.

As a courtesy to other members who may be on the waiting list (and the restaurant as well) please change your RSVP to 'NO' ASAP after you decide you aren't attending.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
