The celebrated Made in Chicago: World Class Jazz concert series returns to Millennium Park Pritzker Pavilion and the Chicago Jazz Meetup Group will be there!!
This week come out and see Chicago Jazz Icon Dee Alexander as she performs a tribute to James Brown and Jimi Hendrix. This tribute to two of the biggest influences on American music covers both familiar and unfamiliar territory of Hendrix and Brown through the inimitable filter of vocalist Dee Alexander’s imagination and unmatched vocal range. With Scott Hesse on guitar; Tomeka Reid, cello; Miguel De La Cerna, piano; Mazz Swift, violin; Harrison Bankhead and Junius Paul, bass; Yusef Ernie Adams, drums; Imania Detry and Amansu Eason, dancers.

The concert is free and begins at 6:30 p.m. generally with a short set by young, aspiring musicians from Chicago-area high schools as part of the Jazz Institute of Chicago’s Jazz Links Student Ensembles.
What to bring: Bring a chair / blanket to sit on and a bottle of wine and/or an appetizer or hors d'oeuvre to share.
Where to find us: Look for Tamara and the group at the front edge of the lawn toward the west side (i.e. side closest to the Michigan Ave. entrance) around a blue tarp and blankets.
