Ok, I'm gonna rate my own meet 'cause it was an absolutely awesome day at Montrose!! The wind was stronger and lasted longer than expected!! It was an absolutely perfect day to kite along the Chi skyline! The water was still warm and the air temps were in the lower 70s so with minimal wetsuit protection, we stayed comfy while enjoying the wind, waves, sun & views. This to me is THEE perfect conditions for Montrose! Warm & sunny enough to bring out just enough beach visitors to liven the place up, but not so warm the beach was overcrowded. About 10 kites on the water was a pleasing view to all!!

Hey John, I'm not a windsurfer but there are a few on here that are. Montrose is not the place to learn a water board sport as it is too bureaucratic, too metropolitan & too much going on. Access was lost there for a while hence the reason for our self policing, streamer system. But there are plenty of places elsewhere to learn. Great place to responsibly practice with a trainer kite tho! Come on out to the Trainer Kite event next weekend. And if u really wanna learn to kite, consider our trip to SPI. Feel free to come check things out a Montrose tomorrow morn. Should be a sight to behold!

I'm interested in trying windsurfing. Can I please borrow some equipment? I have a Hobie Cat and know a thing or two about sailing, plus I'm very fit. Also, I have been wake boarding for years, so I'd be up for kite boarding too, but you say we need a "steamer".
