Grown Folks Stories

Sorry for the late post! Technical difficulties delayed my posting of this event last week, but nevertheless, Grown Folks gotta tell stories! In the past it has been difficult for members to find each other at these events, but everyone who goes has a good time. If you arrive after 7:30 pm, you're most likely going to be standing. I try to hold a group of seats, but that's only going to hold out for so long. But I'm usually standing to try to greet people as they come in, so if you see me, wave and I'll come over and say "hi". Or if you come over, I'll introduce you to other members, who came earlier or members of the other groups I invite out. Usually, after the show a group of us will hang out in the area for a drink or two or some food. We may head down to Rodan with hostess and the main crowd or just cross the street to Swig, where it should be less crowded. Either way, we'd love to have ya!

Grown Folks Stories™ - Chicago, IL

It's back!

For those of you who keep missing it and those who can't get enough of it, we're doing it again!

Local storyteller Cara Brigandi hosts no-notes tales by amateur and professional storytellers. Drop your name in the hat for a five-minute turn at the mic. Most stories are light and entertaining to downright hilarious, while others can be very sobering and heart-felt. Come on out with us to hear some great unscripted tales from the lives of everyday people or maybe get up to tell a story of your own. It's always a good time!

They have a start time of 7:30, but that's usually when they start accepting names for those telling stories. It is a BYOB event, too. So bring whatever spirits or drinks you like. And if you get there after 7:40, you might want to bring your own chair. After that time, standing room only remains. They usually start the show at 8:00 pm. I hope to see you there!

Can't wait to go. Are the stories fiction/ non fiction or both?

Is there a cost for this?
