Chicago R User Group (Chicago RUG) Data and Statistics Message Board › Data Without Borders: Chicago Data Dive, 11-13 May
New York, NY
For some reason, this didn't go through last time... Let's try again:
Thanks for giving me a few minutes of your time at week's meetup. For those of you interested in joining the Data Dive, please register at:
If you were unable to attend the meetup, here's the gist of the announcement:
Data Without Borders pairs non-profits/NGOs with volunteer data scientists. The former get help with their data analysis efforts, and the latter get to flex their skills in a socially conscious manner.
Next month -- 11-13 May -- Data Without Borders is hosting a Data Dive event here in Chicago! A Data Dive is a weekend of data scientists and non-profits working together, face-to-face.
Past Data Dive projects include:
- Visualizing child welfare in DC, with DC Action for Children
- predicting which non-profits are headed to financial ruin, with GuideStar
- analyzing global wellbeing, with the UN Global Pulse
(results of which were shown at the UN General Assembly)
