Here is the final announcement before the Global Data Hackathon. This via Rob Lancaster, the local organizer:

There is still space available but only 5 days left to sign up to participate in the Chicago event for the first ever Global Data Hackathon (at http://chicagodatahackathon.eventbrite.com/).  This is a 24 hour event beginning on Saturday, 4/28 at 7 a.m. (though you don't have to stay the entire time) during which teams around the world will compete to build the most accurate predictive model.  The predictive modeling task itself will be to build an early warning model to address a public issue that affects people all over the world.

The event will be held at the Illinois Technology Association's TechNexus at 200 S. Wacker.  You can find more information on the eventbrite page.

We're looking forward to seeing you there!

Rob Lancaster
