Migrating a Legacy App to Rails
At our Jan2009 meeting, Jeremy Peterson presented on a script to convert a special database data (non-normalized table) application over to Rails. This project is wrapping up and a final update on this project will be discussed. He'll discuss how we added files and images from the PHP application and making handling exceptions for the data.

Creating Form Builders Using JQuery
Peter Sidebotham will build upon the TabularFormBuilder example in Rails Recipes by Chad Fowler. Peter's extension includes a tabular form builder that adds some fields and options beyond what's in the rails recipe example. It also includes a second form builder that provides edit in place functionality using jquery, to switch from displaying labels to form elements. Additionally, the tabular form builder can make a nested call to the edit in place builder, providing combined functionality.
