Chicago Ruby Hack Night - Refactoring

  • September 12, 2012 · 6:00 PM

Building a team? Looking to join a team? Check out the ChicagoRuby Job Board: http://jobs.chicagoruby.org.

Come on out and hack!

Let's try another refactoring project.  We'll do the time log example from the refactoring book, with both Cucumber features and Test::Unit tests.  The code we'll be working on is here.

We'll pair up to work on this Ruby refactoring problem. All Rubyists are welcome, including beginners. Bring your laptop.

Enova Financial, our hosts, will provide food and drink.

Refactoring is very practical. The code sample that needed refactoring was a little over-the-top bad, but it was about the right size to tackle for a two-hour meeting. Good book recommendation, and well worth the time talking to fellow rubyist.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
