Terrific Polish Vegan Dining and Charitable Concert benefiting CVPP!

Many of you remember a delicious Polish-food Vegan dinner at Theresa 2 last year with over 130 attendees. This time we will have the same delicious vegan dinner and a concert!

Menu:

  • Appetizers: Cole Slaw (raw), Cucumber Salad (raw), Pickles
  • Soups: Mushroom Barley, Dill Pickle
  • Entrees: Potato Pancakes, Pierogi (potato, cabbage), Golabki (stuffed cabbage)
  • Sides: Boiled Potatoes with dill, Leczczo (Fresh Mixed Vegetables with sauce), Kapusta (Cabbage)
  • Drinks: Ice Tea, Coffee
  • Dessert: Fresh Fruit

Right after the dinner (between 8 & 9 pm) we will have a concert!

2 Vegan Musicians Hit the Stage:

Chicago's own Vegan Celebrity, Marisa Buchheit (Miss Heart of Illinois 2013), has established herself as one of the most promising emerging vocal talents in the city. She is an operatic soprano and an accomplished folk songwriter, with the "soothing voice of a folk princess" according to Indie Music Reviewer magazine. In January 2012, Marisa released her debut album of original folk songs called Mari Therese: "All Yours". She looks forward to returning to the Chicago Veggie Pride Parade as Grand Marshall once again this year. Visit MariSings.com for more info

Kevin Roy Kramer of Ahymnsa will also be taking the stage with his eclectic and peace-bearing sounds. Ahymnsa is a Starved Rock area band who burst onto the local music scene a couple years ago with a simple concept: have fun, learn, and grow. With their second album to be released in Feb. 2013, the concept of the band has become actualized and is gaining momentum with each new melody they create. You can hear some of these sounds at ahymnsa.bandcamp.com

Price of the event is only $25 if paid in advance on-line or $30 at the door. Save your money with confidence as you may get 100% refund anytime 48 hours before the event per our Refund policy. Advance payment will not be available later than 48 hours before the event. The sitting is limited and RSVP is required either way as the restaurant will prepare the food according the number of the RSVPs.

To make the event even more fun all attendees will receive a raffle ticket to be able to win some excited prizes (TBA)! Additional tickets will be available on sale for only $1 each or 20 for $10 (cash only) and all benefits will go support Chicago Veggie Pride Parade.

Please bring cash if you plan to pay at the event when you check-in.

WHAT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY VEGAN DINNER, LISTEN TO GREAT MUSICIANS, SHARE YOU TIME WITH LIKE-MINDED FRIENDS, AND SUPPORT A WHOLESOME CAUSE AT THE SAME TIME!

You can park on Milwaukee Ave or behind the restaurant (unless the parking is filled).

With a Polish heritage, I found the dinner really terrific. The pierogi were outstanding, the kapusta was exceptional.

I cant figure out how to pay

    April 12, 2013

    • Vadim

The only option to pay at this point is at the door. Please read the event description for details.

      April 13, 2013

  • Jack

I may have an extra reservation for one of you who missed the deadline. If so, see you at the door.

    April 12, 2013

  • Ken

I had trouble finding how to pay also...
But if you've already RSVP'D (on Meetup) Just "change rsvp" & keep it as a 'yes', make a comment if you like - & keep you eye out - there IS a spot to pay Via Amazon as you complete it....

    April 12, 2013

    • Christine Harrell

I had to pay on my computer. I couldn't find a link to pay on the meetup app

      April 12, 2013

Per the event description (above), the advance pre-payment option was available until 48 hours before the event only. After that no advance pre-payment nor refunds are available. However, people can pay simply by the door. Please review the event description for details. I am looking forward to see everyone at the event!

I am half Polish on my biological mothers side, and never ate a true Polish dish in my life that I liked. Probably due to my adoptive mothers Irish cooking. So I am really looking forward to trying authentic Polish dishes in a vegan option. Otherwise I'd never have a chance again. It'll be interesting to add some of the ideas to my present vegan cuisine with all the other ethnic dishes.

Being Polish and Vegan, it is so great to have an event that combines the two. I will certainly be making a road trip for this one and sharing with the Polish groups I am also part of as it is a great event with a great cause.
