Greetings Everyone -

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the ChicagoVeg 3 Year Anniversary Dinner!

Hearty congratulations to Kristen, Andrej, and Mike, winners of the raffles (while indulging in the best vegan BBQ, carrot salad, and other goodies)!

For those who could not attend this event, here are a few announcements that were brought up at the event:

1. As ChicagoVeg is getting involved with creating bigger events (the budget of the Chicago Veggie Pride Parade was about $8,000) we are considering the idea of registering as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO). Becoming an NPO will help us more effectively support the local community and promote vegetarianism/veganism in general. We would be able to bring in a more structured organization and have access to more resources. However, it would also take significantly more effort. We are seeking your feedback and support in helping us with this initiative. We are inviting suggestions, feedback and reaching out to anyone who has experience in setting up or running NPO, Accounting, PR, promoting with Social Media, or just simply would like to help us with our events. If you would like to participate in any way, please simply reply to this note.

2. Many of you may know Eric Sharer. Eric led the ChicagoVeg Health 101 event and the most recent  ChicagoVeg Cooking Demo. While having a strong professional expertise and a number of official credentials (MPH, RD, LDN), Eric is also an excellent and knowledgeable vegan cook. We are very excited to announce that Eric is now ChicagoVeg's official Registered Dietitian (RD) and nutrition expert. Eric is now offering 20% off his counseling services to all ChicagoVeg members. For more info please visit  ChicagoVeg.org/pages/Vegan_Registered_Dietitian

3. We would like to say a special Thank You to Mike Stabler, the Executive Director of Kindness Ranch (a sanctuary that works only with former laboratory animals) who joined us at the anniversary dinner for his educational lecture and all his work he is doing to ease the life of the animals. For more info and an opportunity to support Kindness Ranch please visit KindnessRanch.org

ChicagoVeg is committed to provide a variety of fun, educational, and advocacy activities and we have a number of the events in our pipe-line for this summer. Please make sure to sign up for our existing events and stay tuned for our exciting upcoming events!

Again, thank you for all your support and best wishes to all of you!
