The 2nd Annual Chicago Veggie Pride Parade

The 2012 Chicago Veggie Pride Parade was a great success.

Be a part of history - Join the Second Annual Chicago Veggie Pride Parade!

Parade with us to celebrate the Healthy Vegan/Vegetarian Lifestyle! Featuring guest speakers, a costume contest, and tons of fun, the Chicago Veggie Pride Parade (CVPP) will be a wonderful all-encompassing event to support local vegans and vegetarians, as well as to raise awareness in the general public about the benefits of a plant-based diet. We encourage everyone, vegans or not, to come and walk, socialize, learn, and of course celebrate the Veg lifestyle with us!

We welcome all supporters of a plant-based diet in the greater Chicago area (and in the entire Midwest) who would like to give or receive support in their choices, whether they are based on Ethical, Environmental, Health or Spiritual reasons. The mission of the parade is to unify the voices of everyone who sees an advantage to a plant-based diet and wishes to share and promote it. This unified voice will help to make a stronger impact  on promoting a plant-based diet and  will bring public attention to the global importance of our food choices. Let us all unite and inspire others to join us!

Please visit the official CVPP website at Chicago.VeggiePride.com for additional info.

Legal Notice: The Chicago Park District requires CVPP participants to read and sign the event participant waiver:  CVPP_Participant_Waiver. After you click the RSVP button you will be prompted to write your name serving as your electronic signature that you acknowledge and agree with the waiver.

We look forward to seeing everyone at the event!

It was inspiring to see and hear others sharing my enthusiasm and vision for a more peaceful humankind. If the event today inspired just one person to go vegan, then it did tremendous good.

It was great to see so many show up. Now we just need to keep the momentum going and make this event even larger next year.

No need to wait. Begin now. I went vegan on my own in "Hog Hell" Iowa: 15,000,000 pigs, 3,000,000 people. But each meal shapes towards a vegan world. Come to events & meetups, learn more.

I'll be bringing my meat eating mom and sister... I hope that won't be weird, lol. I really want them to see the benefits that come with a vegetarian diet. They're both curious and looking forward to going. This might sound like a stupid question, but will there be information for meat-eaters?

    May 29, 2013

    • mark g.

Rebecca, there will be pamphlets from MFA which we will be handing out as we march.

      May 29, 2013

    • Vadim

Rebecca - It's not a stupid question! A flyer with this info: http://www.meetup.com... will be offered at ChicagoVeg table at the event. Please invite everyone!

    hi, any parking garages nearby??

    1 · May 27, 2013

    • Vadim

There is a street parking on Columbus but it's pretty expensive and might be hard to find. I suggest to use http://spothero.com to reserve a nearby parking. Right now I see that it's possible to get a parking at 401 S Wabash for only $10 for the entire day (It may change at some point).

      May 27, 2013

    • Pete

Or maybe park free in a neighborhood near a convenient CTA stop, then take bus/El the rest of the way (don't know what other hoods allow free, permit-free parking--mine does). If you're resourceful, you might be able to get that info online

Older than most of you, far a field (over an hour away), less wired to perform quickly or well, I'm a bit overwhelmed. My desire, to leap into every opportunity, is for the moment a bit ahead of my can.

      May 24, 2013

  • Vadim

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring as many guests as you wish; however, each participant is required to RSVP individually in order to provide their electronic signature, which is associated with their email addresses. The Participant Waiver form can be completed by registering online (on this page), or by signing it at the event. Please allow enough time for your guests to sign the waiver on the day of the event. We recommend arriving no later than 11:00 a.m. if your guest(s) did not sign the Participant Waiver electronically. For those who registered online, you can arrive no later than 11:30 a.m. and we will check you in at registration.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
