Attention all Emerging Architecture Professionals!

Please join us at the 2010 AIA Illinois Annual Conference in Champaign to network with peers and engage in a diverse array of break-out sessions.

At this year?s conference, special attention has been given to the support and development of Emerging Professionals (EP?s). Friday?s opening plenary, "ReInvention", is a panel discussion focused on the current state of the profession and our collective future, as a discipline and a practice. The panel will include past YAF Chicago Co-Chair Jessica Lybeck, co-founder of Hoply; Ashley Marsh and Matt McGrane from OWPP/Cannon?s Open Hand Studio, among others. On Saturday, bring your work-in progress portfolio to the Design Portfolio Review Workshop and have it reviewed in an informal setting by prominent Architects and graphic designers from different backgrounds and experiences. This program will be followed by NCARB & You: IDP, ARE & Certification Changes. Learn the requirements for completing IDP, the ARE, and becoming a licensed Architect.

In addition to conference sessions, there will be two social events targeting Emerging Professionals and you will find yourself immersed in creative conversations and learning opportunities with your peers and colleagues.

The first social event will take place directly after the Honor Awards program on Thursday, November 4, across the street at Seven Saints. We expect the crowd at this social to be diverse, allowing a more casual setting to meet and network with your peers.

Our second social event will be for EP?s only, and has a limited capacity. Sponsored by the AIA Central Illinois Young Architects Forum, it will take place directly after the Friday evening Keynote and Reception at the house of architect Vidar Lerum. See the photo and link below for more information on the house. This reception will offer the opportunity to tour Vidar?s house while providing a unique setting for peer to peer engagement.
