Want to come to a party and draw?
AIA Chicago is looking for 6 to 10 young architects to participate in a mini-charrette during a reception at the AIA Chicago office on Monday, February 22. The reception will be hosted at Youth Outreach Services (YOS), a nonprofit human service agency dedicated to caring for youth in and around Chicago, inspiring positive development in their lives, families and communities since 1959. AIA Chicago is assisting YOS in redesigning the interior of their facility in the Austin neighborhood, a project they will promote through this reception. Although the exterior of their small building is not part of the current redesign, we want to give them some ideas of how the exterior might be improved in the future, while letting them watch architects at work, sketching solutions to their clients' needs. Several teenage clients of YOS will join you to watch and learn. The sketching will take place for 45 to 60 minutes, the drawings will be pinned up, and the designers asked to comment briefly on their ideas.

If you would like to be one of our designers, please contact Joan Pomaranc, program director at AIA Chicago, at [address removed] or[masked] by February 16th.
This is a fun and easy way to help a community organization - and AIA Chicago. Thanks for considering it.
You can also earn some "community service" IDP credits for participating in this event.
