Subject pretty much says it all. I'm looking for a place that has the energy and vitality that the educational world of architecture tries to instill in its students. It appears that much of that is lost in professional practice at least in informal surveys I have conducted among my peers. I'd like to think there are firms out there that have found a way to balance the two worlds in a way that allows the work to be engaging and foster a sense of discovery among their team while also being able to pay everyone for their time and effort. If I'm the only one out there who is perceiving the field as being lopsided then I suppose just move on past this post and my search will continue. If you feel the same or have any insight for a young architect out there who is looking to find a slice of that idealistic pie in the sky mentality that seemed so attainable from the studio desk then lets keep this discussion going and see where it leads.
