February 15-18 (President's Day Holiday Weekend)  6 people per cabin.  Bottom bunk is for two people.  Top is for one.  You will need sleeping pad and sleeping bag.  Out house near cabin so bring wet one wipes as well.  (Notice... No refund policy... if you hold a spot you own it).

Cabins 1,2 and 3 will be arranged as per request and by the leaders.

Join us for this adventure in rustic cabins with wood heat and no electricity. Each of the three cabins holds 6 people. All are together in a walk-in location, so bring a sled which can be used to hike in your gear. Wood is provided.  There is an outdoor pump but bringing water in case might be a good idea.

This is a fun filled and beautiful area, with trails through the woods, located near the shore of Lake Superior. There are XC / Snowshoe trails within walking distance and other ski / hike areas located a short drive away.  Bring you XC skis and/or snowshoes or rent XC ski's and snow shoes in town at the University Rec Center.

We will leave on Friday morning or whenever you can leave. Return on Monday whenever we get done packing up and cleaning.

NO REFUNDS will be issued from the meetup for this trip (Paypal charges for refunds and the cabins are pre-pay).

To Google the location, enter "Little Presque Isle Cabins".  Parking for cabins 1,2 and 3 is located on Harlow Lake Road about 1.1 miles from the County Road 550/Harlow Lake Road Intersection.

Carpools will be arranged a week before the event.

Cabin key pick up is at the Michigan Department of Natural Resources located at 1990 US-41 South, along the Lake Superior shoreline between Marquette and Harvey.

When you guys arrive, don't forget to purchase your park pass for each car. DNR said there is a pay box in the main lot (not the lot where we park for the cabins) right before you turn on Harlow Lake Road kitty-corner to the Little Presque Isle sign. You can buy a daily pass or an annual pass from the box or pick them up at the DNR office in Marquette.

Even though we're going to have beer, I just wanted to remind everyone to bring WATER too! Anna, I don't think there are working pumps up there correct?

    February 7, 2013

    • Anna

I am not sure whether the pumps will be working. Last year, I do not believe they were, so it is a good idea to bring water or pick some up in Marquette.

I know this trip is still a ways off but is anybody thinking about meals? Fending for ourselves or divide up responsibilities....

    January 20, 2013

    • Mark

I always liked the divide up meals idea.

Me too. I like cooking, key me know if you have any recommendations. I'll start thinking off ideas too. I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
