How long is the tour?
The tour is approximately 2 hours in length but will vary based on traffic conditions and weather.

Can I get off the bus?
While not encouraged, you can get off, but will not be able to get back on.

Is there a rest room on the bus?
Yes.

Are food and beverages allowed on board?
Of course. Nothing goes better with movies than snacks and drinks. The tour is also BYOB, because nothing goes better with drinks than more drinks.

Can I bring a camera?
Absolutely. Cameras are welcome and our bus stops in front of most sites for photo opportunities.

The Chicago Film Tour is the brainchild of Midwest native and film buff John Brinkman. It is a family owned and operated business. The Tour is the first of it's kind in the Chicagoland area and is both entertaining and educational, with a mixture of both old and new. The tour is always evolving to incorporate footage from brand new movies and rediscovered old gems.

They'll take you over 30 miles in less than two hours, venturing from Chinatown to Uptown, Lakeview to Downtown and everything in between. The Chicago Film Tour hits more than 30 sites where over 80 movies were shot, from Hollywood blockbusters like The Dark Knightand The Fugitiveto Chicago favorites like Ferris Bueller's Day Offand The Blues Brothersto movie classics like North by Northwestand The Sting.

Climb into their luxury motor coach and you'll see the city from the director's chair. At each location, watch scenes come to life on their multiple video screens while getting up close and personal with memorable locations. Whether you are a movie lover or just a couch potato looking for a novel way to experience the Windy City, Chicago Film Tours has something for you.

Whether it's Blockbuster films, Indies, Documentaries, or Classics... COME JOIN US as we tour the city & suburbs visiting different theaters as we watch great flicks and dine out! Participate in theater going experiences of all kinds..IMAX, drive-ins, home theater, cinemas--as well as live theater from time-to-time.

We see everything from the latest blockbusters, action/adventure, goofball comedies, suspense/thrillers, romantic comedies and tearjerkers from Hollywood, to arthouse/indie flicks, foreign films, documentaries and classic films as well. Come share your thoughts, comments and ideas about the films along with popcorn and camaraderie. Generally, we'll go somewhere after for dinner or coffee and dessert to dissect the movie. At times meals are sold during the viewing.

We host movie events at theaters all across Chicago and the surrounding areas. We'll go to almost every sort of movie theatre under the sun - classic single screen palaces; to funky neighborhood theatres; art-house theatres; state of the art megaplexes; and IMAX theaters. We'll be checking out the brand new Stadium seating styled theaters to the older Grand Dame style ones. We have events for early morning matinees in the summer, Friday Opening Night shows, old-fashioned Saturday nights at the movies, midnight shows and retro/classic film screenings. We've even visit few drive-in theatres, too! We cover all genres of films, but do concentrate on the big block busters--since we are trying to attract a decent sized crowd for our outings.

Most of the events are concentrated in Downtown Chicago, Near & Far North, North Shore, and the Western Suburbs...

Make sure you check out our Message Board for updates... We post free/discounted passes & sweepstakes listings there as well. You are encouraged to inform the organizer of free/discounted passes, new venues, and particularly of upcoming movie launches or recent great films that you have viewed.

Sometimes, we'll be offered free passes to movie screenings, but most of the time it's your job to pick up your ticket, food & beverage selections. We might entertain going to someone's HOME THEATER, and in that case it is at the sole-discretion of the Organizer and host as to who may attend. All other times, it is the decision of the Organizer and/or Asst Organizers if a member/guest will be permitted to join in our activities.

We have a Discussion and Message board if you are looking for a buddy to travel along with you on individual private excursions too.

We go to see movies, sometimes see plays, We EAT, We Chat... It's about having fun!

*We hope to be doing some movie rental viewing while chowing down--after either ordering take-out, delivery, or creating our own meals (this if a few people in a few different areas volunteer to open up their homes for use as well) If you can host your location, please email me with the specifics... thanks in advance!

Unless otherwise specified, this group is intended for mature adults over the age of 21. There will be some viewings with the intention of having families attend; usually for a animated flick, on the weekend with the hopes of having divorced parents with visitation rights able to meet others in similar situations as well as those more traditional families.

Let me conclude by saying, WE ARE SOME OF THE FRIENDLIEST PEOPLE WHO ATTEND MEETUP EVENTS!!! Yes, you will feel included, yes you will be encouraged to join into the conversations... Yes, you will be introduced around....

Note: Promoters, we do accept free blocks of tickets if you are interested in promotion/marketing of your films. We concentrate our outings in the City of Chicago as well as the Western Suburbs (from Rosemont on the east to Batavia on the west; Plainfield on the south to Bloomingdale on the north) I post the screenings on several of my other groups as well and we can comfortable use 50-100 passes on somewhat short notice.
