Little Red Schoolhouse Sketch and Hike

Okay, the holidays are over....now let's get back to focusing on our art!
The Little Red Schoolhouse in Willow Springs has a nice (warm) education center we can paint in during the cold weather! Meet in the parking lot. After we are done sketching, we will go for a hike so dress for the weather...use those hand and toe warmers!

This was a wonderful meetup. I'm sorry I didn't include my picture in the group but I messed it up (too much water and not focused) but worked on it Sunday - Jan 13 - and will post it. All of you were fun to be with - I wish there was more time for hiking but hope when the days get longer we will all be able to hike more after painting as we used to. Chris -- we were able to hike more when we started at 9am - maybe that's what changed but I do like the 1pm start time.

I think I would like that. Maybe the Bison can be my dance partner? HAHAHAHAAAAA. No, seriously that sound like a fun afternoon. What time should we meet to sketch?

The dance is Sunday, January 20th at the Kuhn barn in Fermi lab in Batavia. You don't need a partner, there are usually plenty of single dancers who mingle. (Besides, I don't think they let the bison in the barn.) As far as drawing, we could probably meet at 12:30 in front of the Kuhn barn. There is a lake near there that we could draw and several interesting buildings if the bison aren't cooperating (sometimes they like to stay inside and they are on the opposite side of the property). Only negative is the barn doesn't open till 1:30 so if it's really cold there's no place to warm up.
There is a guard station where you need to show an ID when you come into the property.. Tell them you're going to the barn dance and meeting to draw beforehand.January 15

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone - I hope no one gets discouraged by the weather - painting in the education center is also a lot of fun - and I'm still not giving up on my sketchpad with the paper that won't dry unless it's 80 degrees outside! More paint - less water!!
