CT Poultry Breeder's Society Show

This is a nice little show to go to; there are  bird sales, raffles, a variety of beautiful birds being shown, and food (breakfast and lunch.) I am not sure if any of the vendors will be there.

Click here for more information and a link to the show book.

we had a little trouble with the GPS directions last year so be sure to enter the zip code to your  GPS for the town: 06424. They also have a direction box on the page so you can mapquest it.

Hope to see some of you there; I like this show and its pretty local.

We enjoyed the show and learned that it is the only show left on the CT schedule. See our new turkey poults at http://newhaven.craigslist.org/grd/3758726045.html

Set up was fun!! We have 326 entries of that half are juniors. There is no admission. We will have great food and raffle with alot of great items and I *think* my pet chicken might be donating a slightly used chicken to raffle also! We will have nice hot food serving up too! If your interested in purchasing birds bring carriers and/or boxes with bedding. Also make sure you put in the zip code on your gps as last year a few folks got lost. Hope to see you all there!!

Joan, call ducks are hard to breed and usually come in pairs. Most of the time the pairs go for $100. The indies sometimes will be a little cheaper but the person that breeds them won't be at this show sorry.

All I can say is that I will look. I have seen pet quality calls at the shows for less than that but you do have to have a pair. The problem is that if you take just one, you will be hearing constant calling. They really need eachother. I have a pair of west indies and I believe they are laying but I have yet to hatch my smaller duck eggs to check. You have to agree to take a pair at least or you will have a very unhappy duck. please email me directly at melinabrown@gmail,com and let me know your phone number or email so I can try to contact you. Its hard to contact people during shows because its noisy....but I can maybe text if I see something. This is a smaller show. we can probably find or hatch some smaller ducks but you have to understand that they dont do well alone.

Thank you for replying guys! I'm digging this Meetup thing. Should I bring like a cage or something if I get the opportunity to buy pullets?

    April 18, 2013

I've never visited one of these events before so I'm really excited. Is there a ticket we need to pre-purchase?

    April 17, 2013

  • Melina B.

there are sales so if you go right when it opens you can probably buy some.

There might be a few call duck breeders available at the show. They may not have anything for sale but maybe you can get their contact info for future sale ;)

Does anyone have two female call or west indie ducklings for sale? Melina suggested I ask.
