Re: [Chihuahuas-of-the-Tampa-Bay-Area] FW: Hershey

I really truly wish I could, but I have cats, a chihuahua and a three year old and from the sounds of it Hershey needs and deserves a one person home so I'll spare him the undue stress. I really wish people thought twice about adopting a dog but short of my soapbox I will ask around!

Please keep me updated on Hershey's saga of finding his forever home.

Dear Chihuahuas of the Tampa Bay Area,

We have a member who is in need of finding her previous pup a home.  She explains his reasons for not being where he is now….what a shame, they took in another dog and booting Hersey out the door!   Please read Kara’s comments below and see her email address to contact her about him.  I only know what she wrote below, so if you have more questions, please go directly to her.  There is two adorable pictures of him and you will easily see why his name is Hersey!

Please help and thanks to all!

Lynne

Lynne,

Can you help me find a new home for Hershey? We had to re-home him last year because he had issues with aggression (mostly with anyone getting near my husband, including me and Remy) and I didn’t want to chance him biting the baby. The couple that took him took in another dog they found (a stray) and decided they didn’t want Hershey anymore. We can’t take him back because of the aggression, especially with Remy getting older but since he’s a seizure dog, we don’t want to let him go to just anyone.

He’s a great dog. He’s good with other dogs. He’s just a one-person kind of dog – when he has a favorite person, that’s his person. He’s been on Phenobarbital twice a day for a few years which keeps the seizures to a minimum.

They need to have him out of their apartment by the weekend. I can take him for a few days if necessary, but it can’t be permanent. L If you could pass the word around, I’d be very very appreciative!

Here’s a picture of him too.

I wish I had any other way to take care of him without risking my baby’s fingers. L
