It's impossible to say what your favorite book is. But give one or two.

Flight by Sherman Alexie, The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver

If you weren't reading a book, what would you be doing?

Meditating, yoga, ruminating, communing with nature, spending time with daughters and husband, writing. My former hobbies don't work with my current life, so I am feeling out a new path.

For extra bonus points, share your favorite 80s memory.

Watched Perks of Being a Wallflower with my 14 year old-- relatable on all levels. My friends and I listened to Bowie, The Violent Femmes-- any John Hughes soundtrack--wore vintage thrift, and talked existentialism as we surveyed downtown Fargo from illegal rooftop access. After a day of teen angst, nothing says unwind like fishnets and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

I migrated to Madison in 2007 seeking an oasis of blue after drowning in a red state. I was a teacher, literacy specialist in Madison until my body changed the game plan. Now I am a student learning to live, thrive, and make new friends.
