Chiltern Explorers are based in High Wycombe, in the Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. See the NAAONB website
These hills cover nearly 50 miles passing across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire; they are close to London and easily accessible by train.
Our aim is to explore these beautiful hills and further afield with trips to some of the UKs National Parks or other areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Mainly on foot, but sometimes on a bike.
We are enthusiastic about photography and are always taking photographs and if you join us on one of our walks, you will definitely be encouraged to do the same.
The group is twinned with a London walking and activity group London Explorers and we do activities together sometimes.
Our walks are pre-walked or extensively researched before an event, leaving you free to relax and enjoy the lovely scenery in the company of other like-minded individuals and of course you will be keeping fit with a combination of both long or short walks.
Most of the walks start at or near a local railway station, with nearby access to car parking (free if possible) to give you a choice of transport. We always try to round every walk with a well-deserved pub stop.
