There are questions, and there are Chinese questions - those that make perfect sense in a Chinese setting for Chinese people, but may make foreigners uncomfortable if not feel outright offended.
From "are you getting fat?" to "why aren't you married?", we need to know why the questions are asked, and even more important, how to respond to them. So yes, this lesson is a culture lesson. (If you have to miss any class, let it not be this one! :D)
Kat has particular methods of teaching and learning Chinese based on decades (! :D) of teaching. Though we may have different levels coming in, everyone should be able to get something out of the Workshop. And it's all free!
We're still trying out venues and different times for meeting. Any suggestions are welcome.
*Chinese Workshop lessons are conducted in English and Chinese (Mandarin). Each hour is a stand-alone lesson. All levels are welcome. If you are a native speaker of Chinese, this Meetup may not be for you, as the lesson is intended (and the talk time reserved) for learners of Chinese. Thanks for your understanding. :)
*Kat is only in Paris for a visit, so do catch us before Chinese Workshop leaves town again and back on Skype.
