Textbooks can be a great starting point and foundation for learning Chinese. But life is spontaneous, on-the-go, and even messy sometimes, and our daily language reflects that. "What's up?" is very unlikely to show up in any textbooks. But we'd better know it!
So let's pick up some useful - and fun - expressions that textbooks tend to overlook. "You up for it?" :D
To prepare: Share with the group one of your favorite Chinese expressions.
*Chinese Workshop lessons are conducted in English and Chinese (Mandarin). Each workshop is a stand-alone lesson. All levels are welcome. If you are a native speaker of Chinese, this Meetup may not be for you, as the lesson is intended (and the talk time reserved) for learners of Chinese. Thanks for your understanding. :)
*Kat's only visiting for 2 weeks this time, so do catch one or all 3 sessions before Chinese Workshop leaves town again.
*You can take a look at our past workshops in Paris and London on this site, or those in New York here: http://www.meetup.com/chinese-308/
*There's a €2 event fee to go toward the Meetup Organizer subscription charge, which the organizer pays Meetup.com every month to host the group.
Hope to see you then! :D
