Chonyi Ling is a Dharma center focused on the Tibetan meditation practices of the Nyingma and Kagyu schools. Open to all, Chonyi Ling offers people an opportunity to connect with and refine their understanding of their true nature. Rather than the complex visualizations and mantra recitation so common in Vajrayana practice, this group focuses on the direct experience of one's true nature.
Chonyi Ling was formed ten years ago by a longtime Buddhist practitioner and is guided by some of the greatest masters of the 20th century, such as Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Adeu Rinpoche, Adzom Paylo Rinpoche, Terton Tashi Gyaltsen, Gangteng Tulku Rinpoche, Chokyi Trichen Rinpoche, HH Sakya Trizin Rinpoche, Choying Dorje Lama Norsuk, and draws inspiration from all schools of Buddhism.
"Insider" is the translation of the Tibetan nangpa, the Tibetan term for Buddhist. As it pertains to Chonyi Ling, an Insider is a person who connects to what is most essential - to the essential nature present in all of us. Here's great advice from the Indian mahasiddha Tilopa that reflects our meditation approach:
Don't recall - Let go of what has passed
Don't imagine - Let go of what may come
Don't think - Let go of what is happening now
Don't examine - Don't try to figure anything out
Don't control - Don't try to make anything happen
Rest - Relax, right now, and rest
