"If you've got half a mind to try hashing, that's all you need!" Started in 1938, the Hash House Harriers are an international collection of non-competitive running, social and drinking clubs. At a hash, one or more members (the “hares”) lay a trail by dropping handfuls of flour as they run. A short time later, the remainder of the group (the “pack” or “hounds”) try to find and catch the hare(s) by following the marked trail. There will be beer or other drinks on trail and after, with much effort given to not take ourselves too seriously.

Meetup has allowed me to meet people I wouldn't have met naturally - they're totally different than me.
