1) This group is for  conservative Christians. If this doesn't describe you, then please don't apply for membership. 

2)  A profile picture of YOURSELF is mandatory in order to join CILA.  That would mean a clear picture of YOU  (Not your cat.  Not your favorite cartoon character, etc. - and, no, a picture of Jesus won't work, either).    YOUR PROFILE PHOTO MUST BE ONE THAT CLEARLY SHOWS YOUR FACE. IF NOT, YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL BE DECLINED.   This rule protects our members from spammers, etc. If you  don't want to put a picture of yourself on your profile, we certainly do understand, however, you can't join this group.  There are no exceptions. 

3) To protect our members from SPAM, this group has a restricted email policy where only our organizers can email our members.

Are you a Christian looking for Christian friends to do things with, fellowship and enjoy life?

We love Los Angeles but it can be a lonely place for Christians! If you are interested in museums, fishing, hiking, arts and many other activities, let us know. Let's meet-up as often as possible to encourage one another!

What We Are: 
-A group of practicing Christians who fellowship and enjoy life together. 
-Kind, positive, encouraging and uplifting!

-Mostly fabulous
-Humble (!!!) LOL
-Forgiving, because, well, we all blow it from time to time

That being said.. Here's what we are not: 

-We are not legalistic - for example, some of our events include alcohol (wine tasting, etc.) - if you believe this is wrong for you, we absolutely understand and there are other groups on meetup that might be more fitting for you. 

-We're not a church group.  We STRONGLY encourage members to join a local church!  What WE are is a group of Christians that get together for  activity-based fellowship - Our members worship at various different Christian churches in the Los Angeles area. We at CILA facilitate social events for Christians to fellowship, develop friendships and to participate in a solid, joyful, vibrant Christian community.  This doesn't mean we won't ever be involved in ministry-minded activities - we will and we have - but that isn't the primary focus of this group. 

- We are not a generic "world religions" group. We are not a generic "spirituality" group. There are many groups in LA to explore ones "spiritual" side. CILA members are CHRISTIAN. Christian, Christian, Christian. Yes, we are spiritual. Everyone is spiritual but we are, specifically, Christians. We don't mind the label, "Christian." We absolutely understand that some people are looking for a general, generic "spiritual" group that is aligned with "all religions," and want to add Christianity to their repertoire. If that sounds like you, there are all kinds of groups out there that would be PERFECT for you! This isn't one of them.

-We're not here to argue with you about our faith, your faith, your dog's faith, etc.. If you are not a Christian, we don't want to argue with you.  We love you, regardless of your faith.  We respect your personal decisions about your religious or non-religious preferences.  That's between you and you!  Thing is, if you're not a Christian, this group isn't for you (hence the name, CHRISTIANS in LA).  This is a Christian group for practicing Christians (and, yes, we need a lot of practice!  :)  ).  To find out more about Jesus, please feel free to contact one of the many awesome local churches in LA  (one of our sponsors is Calvary Hollywood - AWESOME peeps - great church!) or if you're in the Foothills area you can visit Verdugo Hills Church (LOVE them! That's where I worship) or check out the basics of Christianity at www.christianity.com - This is a great site that will explain how you can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.   This truly is the best decision you will ever make.

So, let's restate the facts:  At CILA, we love theological discussions - but some people would like to join because they're just looking for people to argue with in regards to Christianity.  If that sounds like you, please do not apply for membership but DO feel free to check out those churches.  Hey! Don't be sad. We still love you. We still think you're fabulous. We think you're great. Who does your hair? WONderful!
