Open meeting of the New York City proto-congregation of the Church of Azazel.

No announced topic.  We'll discuss whatever topics people at the meeting want to discuss that are relevant to the Church of Azazel paradigm.

Please plan to arrive before 7:30 PM.  The meeting will have the following format:

• 7:15 to 7:30:  Informal socializing.
• 7:30 to 7:40:  Order food.
• 7:40 to 8:05:  Introductions. Tell us a little about your own perspective on Satanism, Luciferianism, "Dark" Paganism, or "Left-Hand-Path" occultism, and also tell us a little about your own personal spiritual/religious history.
• 8:05 to 8:15:  Break.
• 8:15 to 9:15:  Discussion of topics raised by attendees.
• 9:15 to 9:25:  Break.
• 9:25 to 10:00:  Announcements, discussion of possible future plans, and miscellaneous.
• 10:00 to 10:15 or later:  Informal socializing.

For now, our publicly-announced meetings will be dinner meetings at restaurants in Manhattan and sometimes in Queens. We will also hold private meetings (not announced on this site). At least for now, our rituals (other than the affirmation of our common purpose) will be held at private gatherings only.

This meeting is at a diner, one block west of Penn Station. (The exact address, and other details, will be visible to you once you join this Meetup group.) The nearest subway stop is 34th Street on the A, C, and E lines (8th Avenue).

We'll be meeting at a table in the BACK part of the diner. Please ask a waiter about "Diane Vera's meetup." At least one or two of us, though probably not most of us, will be wearing black shirts and/or point-down pentagram pendants of some kind. (If you arrive early and are the first to arrive, please have a seat in the BACK part, but in an area from which you can still see the front door, and let the waiter know that you are here for "Diane Vera's meetup.")

Newcomers are welcome. Diane Vera, the organizer, will make a point of welcoming all who arrive and encouraging all attendees to tell the rest of us a bit about themselves and their beliefs, to facilitate conversation.

However, please note that our open meetings are intended only for people who have a serious interest in the Church of Azazel and who, for the most part, are in agreement with the Church of Azazel's beliefs and principles. If you are a Satanist but have strong disagreements with the Church of Azazel's paradigm, you are still welcome to attend meetings of NYC Satanists, Luciferians, Dark Pagans, and LHP Occultists, which welcomes Satanists of all law-abiding kinds, not just prospective members of the Church of Azazel.

Also, please plan to spend a minimum of $5 on food or drinks, so that the restaurant where we meet will continue to welcome our business.

Please RSVP as soon as you can, with at least a "maybe" if you can't yet say "yes" or "no." The more people RSVP early, the bigger and better our meetups will be, because a reasonably large number of early RSVP's will let other visitors to this site know that we are indeed a live group where they will actually meet some people.

If you RSVP "maybe," we would appreciate it very much if you could then change your RSVP to a "yes" or "no" by no later than at least a few days before the event, so that we can have a better idea how big a table to reserve. This is important. Please remember to RSVP.

Prospective members of the Church of Azazel are strongly encouraged to attend meetings of both NYC Satanists, Luciferians, Dark Pagans, and LHP Occultists and New Yorkers Against Religion-Based Bigotry as well as the open meetings of of the Church of Azazel proto-congregation itself. Both these two other groups hold meetings more often than our own open meetings and are a good additional way to get to know us.
