"Explore God" -- Does Life Have a Purpose?

Have you noticed any of the billboards that have been distributed across Austin with the words "Explore God" on them? Have you heard any of the Explore God commercials on the radio? Austin has been selected as a pilot city for what will hopefully evolve into a national theological exploration. This is where we come in. Cigars and Theology is going to transition into one of the first Explore God groups in the country for a six- week period. Each Friday from Sept. 6th through Oct. 11th, we'll be meeting at 7 pm at either my home or at the home of my co-leader. There, we'll be discussing many similar questions to what we have in the past (Does everyone have a purpose? Is suffering part of God's plan? Are we here by chance or intelligent design?). An important difference, however, is that space will be limited. A goal of Explore God is to reach people who haven't ever experienced something like what we've been doing. So, space will be capped, at least initially, at 5 people--I know, not very many--so that new folks around Austin can have a chance to attend. One more difference is that our discussions will be a little more structured than usual. We'll watch a couple of short videos each week to help frame our discussions on a chosen topic. If this sounds like something exciting to you, we'd love to have you be a part of it, so grab a seat while you can. To find out more about Explore God go to:
