Welcome! Do you find yourself craving exploration beyond the more traditional topics in your spiritual journey? You know what I'm talking about—budgeting finances according to a religious text, how to strengthen relationships, developing a prayer life, and the like?
The purpose of Cigars & Theology is to bring together those of us who are exploring spirituality to engage interesting theological topics through conversation, cigars and beverages. We do this organically by asking difficult and often controversial questions and allowing the ensuing conversations to have their way. Hopefully, the result is a refined understanding of some of our most difficult spiritual issues. Your organizers claim the Christian faith, so the majority of topics have their origins in Christianity, but we try to focus on those issues with the most universal applicability.
The "small group" or "home group" format that some organizations use, if you're familiar with that, is the structural objective. The basic idea is to have a relatively small group (15 members or less) come together in an intimate setting (usually a member's home) to share bottles, smokes, and perspectives.
Finally, Cigars & Theology is growing! We're now preparing to have a raw and authentic bible-study for people who are looking for more of a structured, bible-based theological discussion. In other words, if you've crossed the threshold into a God-based reality, but you still have questions about difficult biblical topics, we encourage you to attend this new option. Our less-structured original meetings, which will continue to occur, will now be staggered with this new offering.
So in short, whether the wine and beer are an excuse to discuss theology, or the theology is an excuse to smoke a good cigar, you are welcome here with us!

P.S. You'll see a $10/yr "member dues" listed. This is completely voluntary. If you decide to participate and you want to be a part of what we're doing, then we want you to be able to contribute, but you certainly don't have to. Bottom line, we're simply glad to have you.
