    Excellent!
Mike provided a detailed look into a new package that he and colleagues are developing for linked micromap analysis methods. This was a new area to me and the new insight and early sneak peek at the package was much appreicated!
Jeremy shared some work that he and Joel have jointly pursued to speed up some marketing analysis using the apply function. This generated a lively discussion of process speed, vectorization, and related ideas.
It was a lot of fun for me and the mushroom quesadilla went nicely with my beer! :-)

I was also planning on showing the use of the apply function compared to looping for an application I was working on. This shows the benefit of using apply vs a do loop.

Stu, I can give an overview of the lmplot package. This package makes linked micro maps. Several colleagues and I have been working on it, and we are getting ready to post it on CRAN. Mike

Would anyone be willing to plan a short presentation for this meetup? Possibly an overview of an R package? Or a review of a recent (or old) analysis you did?
    Thanks in advance!
