Kentucky Derby Party & Dance **Lexington, KY**

Kentucky Derby Party & Dance in **Lexington, KY**

Bob Barnes is a new member of 30+, who attended the March 9th Dance.  Bob and 6 other Central Kentuckians will be attending the IHM April 13th Dance.  Bob invites our members (and friends) to come down to St. Leo's Catholic Church in Versailles (near Lexington), KY to attend their 2013 Kentucky Derby Party & Dance.  They will have a Meet and Greet starting at 3:00pm, the Derby is expected to run at 6:30, then after the Derby around 7:00 it's dance music until midnite.  St. Leo's Parish Hall is 2-years old and seats 280 people.  It has a full kitchen, and country backyard.

There is no cost for this event, but everyone is encouraged to bring an appetizer or beverage/ soft drink to share.  It is suggested that anyone interested in car pooling to meet and leave from IHM on Saturday May 4th at 1:00pm.  Follow this link (map) for goggle map directions.  Any questions please call Bob @[masked] this is Bob's home phone and he does not have a cell so please leave a message if there is no answer.  Bob will return your phone call.

Becki - thank you for attending, and for the kind comments. We've discussed having dances there, and letting Pete bring only a few CDs instead of over 100 of them. We played the 1965 Hits a long time last nite, & George Jones' "He Stopped Loving Her Today".

See you at the Square Dance Saturday.

Let people know, and maybe 3 or 4 will carpool to this. Even if you leave the Dance at 10pm, you'll get back to Cincy before midnite.

FYI - St. Leo Church is next to the Parish Hall, and has Saturday Vigil Mass at 5pm ... the Derby should start around 6:30pm. For out-of-town visitors staying overnite, St. Leo has Sunday Masses at 9:30am & 6:00pm (Spanish).

I hate to cancel but I just realize I have a retreat this weekend. Hope to make the next one. I have been wanting to head to Lexington to visit my favorite winery (Talon).

Welcome Greg. We'll have other non-Cincy people there, and people other than I are adding attendees. My List has about 15 now, and we'll continue adding more.

    I'll keep attendance projections updated.

Welcome Gail. There's ongoing road construction on US 60 from Lexington to Versailles. You can avoid that by getting off I-75 South & taking I-64 W to the Frankfort Exit, and then the Exit to Versailles.

From Lexington, I'll have to take US 60, but they might delay construction on Derby Day.
