Introduction
Hi all! I started backpacking in northern Michigan in the 60s, have done a fair amount in Alaska, the Cascades, and other parts of the west. I would love to contribute to the group.
Please relate, in general terms, your backpacking experience.
A fair amount in Alaska and the West, a couple of times in W. Va.
What was your favorite backpacking experience?
Long treks above timberline in Alaska.
What was your funniest backpacking moment?
too many to pick one right now.
What was your most embarrassing backpacking moment?
Getting picked up by a pal after our group was on the Resurrection Pass Trail in Alaska for a week. there were 4 of us hiking, and the guy who picked us up said we smelled so bad he wanted us to jump in the creek and soak before he would let us in the truck,
What's the longest backpacking trip you've ever taken? (in mileage and/or days)
10 days, 77 miles in the Talkeetna Mountains in Alaska.

John...I posted on the calendar a meet up at Winton Woods Lake for this coming Sunday, but for some sort of technical reason with his computer Larry can't make me an organizer so that the event can be announced to the entire group. Could you take a look at the event on the calendar and then pick it up as the organizer so that the word goes out? You wouldn't need any further involvement. Let me know...Tom Loch
