Hi Friends,

The Oscar’s publicity campaign is in full swing with news and announcements being issued almost daily. There are many reasons to get excited about the awards, the telecast and, of course our Oscar Watch Party/Benefit – EAT DRINK WATCH OSCARS on Sunday, February 24th.

I would encourage you to look over the event posting and give serious consideration to joining us. Please keep in mind that we have tried to keep the ticket prices down to a reasonable $100 with $50 going directly to the Cleveland Cinematheque at the Institute of Art. (There is another Red Carpet Party in Cleveland with admission starting at $250 per person!)

We’re starting at Cinematheque with the Cleveland Premier of SISTER (2012) the Oscar Finalist from Switzerland. It is in French and English with subtitles. The film has gotten rave reviews and stars Léa Seydoux of Midnight in Paris, Farewell, My Queen alongside Gillian Anderson you’ll remember as special agent Dana Scully in The X-Files, The Last King of Scotland.

All of this followed by a scrumptious meal and fellowship at Nighttown and the Oscars on HD big screens! We’ll even have a “quiet room” away from the party for serious film lovers. And, we’ll have some film tickets to giveaway.

I did want to caution you about tickets. We are only making 100 available and they are moving quite well. If you are considering this event, please make a decision and purchase your tickets soon. We expect a full house so don’t delay.

Here are some highlights from the telecast that will make it “must see” television for sure.

First, I’ll go out on a limb and share my pick for Best Actress: 5 yr. old Quvenzhané Wallis in "Beasts of the Southern Wild." She’s the youngest person to ever receive a Best Actress Nomination. She’s the best thing since Shirley Temple. If you haven’t seen Beasts of the Southern Wild there is still time.

The Oscars will be filled with great music. Scheduled to perform: Adel “Skyfall”; Norah Jones “Everybody Needs a Best Friend” from Ted; Barbra Streisand and Shirley Bassey Goldfinger," "Diamonds Are Forever" and "Moonraker.”

As you may have guessed, The 85th Academy Awards® will include a tribute to the James Bond films, celebrating the 50th Anniversary this year. Starting with 'Dr. No' back in 1962, the 007 movies have become the longest-running motion picture franchise in history and a beloved global phenomenon based on Ian Flemings’ novels.

Academy Award® winners Renée Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones will join their "Chicago" cast mates Richard Gere and Queen Latifah to present together on-stage at the Oscars®. Other presenters include "The Avengers" cast members Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo; returning 2011 Oscar winners Jean Dujardin “The Artist”, Christopher Plummer, Octavia Spencer and Meryl Streep; co-stars Mark Wahlberg and Ted; and, special guest appearances including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Daniel Radcliffe, Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron.

Wow! With all of that happening you may want to know that there is an official Oscars App for your smart phone, providing access to The Oscars before, during and after the show. There is also a Facebook page that will let you make your Oscar picks and share with friends.

On Oscar Sunday, will launch Backstage Pass, giving fans premier access to the most memorable moments of the night through over a dozen exclusive live cameras strategically placed on the Red Carpet and throughout the theatre. It will also feature real-time highlights from the show itself, which promises many surprises for Hollywood’s biggest night.

So, dust off your evening gown, tux or best suit and make plans to join us on Oscar Sunday! (actually jeans are welcome too!)
