Right, I know some people may think this is an old film they have been seen before, but IT IS A CLASSIC and we are fast approaching Christmas which is the season for such nostalgia, also it is the 70th anniversary of the making of Casablanca.

So you really should come. This is one of the most loved films of all time and for good reason, I have checked several websites for reviews and even the sometimes obtuse Rotten Tomato gives it an amazing 97% approval rating! As people there and on IMDB say, to not like this movie might just mean you are in fact, well, dead?

It has everything, Bogart (possibly the coolest guy on the planet) Bergman, a classic soundtrack and a great story. If you are interested this essay and this one explains how it came to be and that, but for some good luck, we may never have had the movie that exists today; for instance one of the orginal options for the role played by Bogart was Ronald Reagan! In so many ways it could easily have been a disaster, which is often the way with classic movies.

So again I suggest you think twice before deciding not to see it; watching it with friends with a drink in hand and some popcorn will make all the difference. Heart warming, full of classic lines, maybe a little corny at times, all in all classic Christmas fare.
