Lilies Of The Field (1963)

Jon Jackson will present this exceptional film starring Sidney Poitier in an Academy Award winning role!  It's the story of Homer Smith, a young, educated Black man in the early '60s (an itinerant handyman/jack-of-all-trades) and his encounter with a group of Germanic nuns in the Arizona desert who believe he has been sent by God to build them a new chapel.  From the novel by William Barrett, the film is directed by Ralph Nelson, with music by Jerry Goldsmith.
