Ho ho holy crap! It's that time of year again! What do you say, happy holidays or merry Christmas?
This month's theme: "Santa and Jesus".
For Santa, I'm interested in cheesy bad movies that are in some way related to winter or the holiday season. This doesn't necessarily have to be a "feel good" type movie. For example, a Santa slasher movie like Kevin's "Silent Night, Deadly Night". And this also doesn't need to involve Santa. For instance, the "Jack Frost" movie that was on an episode of MST3K.
For Jesus, I'm looking for bad movies that are in some way related to religion, but not necessarily limited to Christianity. You can bring movies that are made by religious people, for religious people -- like the "Left Behind" film series. But movies don't need to be "religious" to be in this category. For instance, "The Killing of Satan" -- you wouldn't consider that a religious movie, but it does have Satan.
New rule: Comedy films are frowned upon. Movies that are unintentionally bad are hilarious and awesome.
For this double-feature, we could watch two Jesus or two Santa, or one of each. Whatever wins the vote.
The only day I could reserve for the month of December is Sunday the 8th -- Are you all cool with that?
The run time must be at most around 90 minutes, and no excessive nudity because the room is semi-public (scenes with brief nudity are acceptable). I'll have a VCR, XBOX 360 and laptop. We'll put the movies to a vote and watch the top two. During intermission, I'll have a selection of RiffTrax shorts to vote on.
Bringing a movie is totally optional. This event is free, but I encourage you to buy food and drink to support the cafe.
