Hi Leah, I've been meaning to come out to some of the wonderfully bad films that are sponsored by Cinema Terrible, but unfortunately haven't been able to thus far. A big part of the problem is that I work on Friday and Saturday night, and a lot of these events are scheduled then. Might I be so bold as to recommend that at least one or two movies a month be held sometime during the regular week Sun.-Thurs. so that weekend warriors like myself can catch up with all you great cine-astes of bad taste before the group begins to go sour with me. Thanks.

I believe Lars is now 100% dedicated to AFS (Austin Film Society), much of which does screen at Marchesa. Haven't been to Weird Wednesday in ages to be honest, I don't know who the host is now. The events like "Terror Tuesday", "Video Vortex" and all are put together by Joseph Ziemba and some other movie lover guys. Basically they choose the movies and they host them, so we couldn't (nor would we want to) host for them. Also, I've talked to the event director of the Drafthouse in the past, and I think hosting an event of our own making is currently outside our scope of influence and financial funds. If we get to the point that this group is sufficiently popular, then I'll have leverage to negotiate with the Drafthouse and other local businesses and get cool things. This is still a relatively young meetup, so that could change in the future. Who knows. But for now, it's just getting together to watch stuff.

However, if you are able to find a viable venue that is extremely inexpensive/free and has good space and a good television (like the Pizza Bistro where we've lately been showing movies), then you should let me know. It would really help us out. I see stuff like the Drafthouse as "big fish", and currently I'm just looking to branch out to smaller places like reservable rooms at restaurants and cafés.

MUTANT (Later renamed Forbidden World so it wouldn't be TOOO much of a bad Alien Ripoff) was one of the best shitshlock ripoff's of "Alien" I've ever had the glory to witness, right along the lines of Star Crystal or Saturn 3. You know it's good when the film kicks off with a needless and poorly directed space battle comprised almost entirely of footage lifted from ANOTHER Corman Film (Battle Beyond the Stars), and is loaded with a crew that makes the idiots in Prometheus seems like giants of intellect in comparison. Couple that with Corman's penchant for gratuitous tits and terrible special effects, and that made for an evening of brilliant cinema.

Hi, I just noticed that a spot opened up but I don't think I'll be able to make it to this one. Hopefully next time!

Since it's DVD/USB only, I am bringing some heavy hitters from our collection that aren't on VHS. I will surprise, but I am definitely bringing Riki-Oh.

How does this work? Is this bring your own movie, let's vote for stuff on NetFlix, or do you guys decide on what to show?

We can play DVDs and BluRays. Last time, we voted for some movies we had and on one that Valerie brought. :)
