This July, the Savage Gold Team - Max Dropout and Lars Nilsen - will be joined by special guest programmer Zack Carlson to present an ALL NIGHT showcase of rare video oddities under the stars at the Blue Starlite Drive In, conveniently located at Austin Studios. As always, attendees must bring at least one ultra-roguish snack item or drink for the Junk Food Potluck, and, as you would expect, the selection of short and feature videos will confound, surprise and delight you. This installment of SAVAGE GOLD is inspired by the USA Network’s ‘80s and ‘90s all night programming, from the stonerific NIGHT FLIGHT to the bowdlerized T&A of UP ALL NIGHT. There are a limited number of drive-up slots and plenty of outdoor seating for all.
HOW THIS WORKS
Tickets are on sale for Savage Gold: Up All Night Flight. Buy them NOW before they sell out!
If you haven't confirmed to me yet that you'll be there tomorrow, please let me know. The people that I have down are Sam, Sarah, Valerie/Antony, and Michelle. They begin letting people in around 8PM, and the first movie will start at around 8:45PM (or by sun down, which is around 8:33PM). There will be 6 movies, and this will end around 6AM in the morning. Yes that's total insanity, but we'll keep each other company (for as long as we all last).
Let's try to find each other around 8:15PM or so. I won't have a meetup sign, but you all know what I look like. Bring your lawn chair and outerwear (it will go down to at least 74 degrees). I'll bring mosquito repellent if anyone would like to borrow. Feel free to bring all your beverages and snacks -- they plan to setup a "junk food potluck" to which you may contribute. They're specifically looking for "roguish" snacks, which means obscure (like a snack you'd get at a Korean grocery store, for example), but you don't have to do that. The drive-in also has a concession stand if you want "real" food.
If you can't find me, here's my contact info:
phone number (call or text) --[masked]
e-mail -- [masked]
If you want to let me know your phone number, too, that would be helpful for me.
See you soon,
