Free Premiere Screening - Red Lights (Cillian Murphy will be in attendance)

We will meet at the Alliance films desk before the film (for pass pickup) and at the same location after the film (for the post screening discussion)

Please note - there has been a change to the procedure for obtaining passes to free premiere screenings.  In order to be eligible for these events please sign up for the waiting list.  in an effort to promote fairness the decision as to who will attend will no longer be based on the order in which you reply but rather on the following factors:

The length of time you’ve been a member of Cinema Junkies, your level of involvement in the group, the number of similar events you’ve attended in past and the number of “no shows” you’ve had.

Best wishes to all and we’ll see you at the film!

Red Lights 2012 Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver & Robert DeNiro, Dr. Margaret Matheson and her partner, Tom Buckley are the worlds foremost investigators of paranormal phenomena. Professional skeptics, they have debunked dozens of fraudulent mind readers, ghost hunters, faith healers and the like by detecting what Matheson calls red lights, subtle clues to the trickery behind each of these supernatural occurrences.

But when the legendary blind psychic Simon Silver comes out of retirement after 30 years, his once-fearless adversary Matheson warns Buckley to back off. Suspecting that the charismatic, spoon-bending mind reader was involved in the mysterious death of his most vociferous critic three decades earlier, she considers him far too dangerous to confront (source IMDB).

Sadly the theatre was completely filled by the time we could get our tickets and I didn't get to see it. But John and I went out for a beer afterwards and had a lovely time. So it was a good evening in all.

Yes, thanks for organizing and your time and effort. There were tickets still available until after 6:15 as I had gotten there around that time but since our organizer came after 6:30 and most people showed up at like 6 or before waiting would have all gotten in. It would be great if we are expected to be somewhere at a certain time then I hope everyone ensures too be there too. I think most people who waiting in line for rush also got in as I saw many people. Anyway, thanks for trying.

It was disappointing that the tickets are all gone by the time we receive our passes to exchange for tickets but I figured that they would have ran out of tickets by then (6:30) in either case. Thanks for organizing the event all the same and better luck next time!

Actually, Krystyna...its a contest and free screenings for premieres are not that rare....but in a contest its random and not about who is watching the shows that contests are on....or first come first serve. How will anyone determine who has the most dedication anyway? especially if there are tons of members in some group. The most fair way to do is to do it randomly or first come, first serve. So just because you came 3 years before me doesn't mean you are more dedicated cause I never got t

Just my 2 cents but free screenings are very rare, and it's not necessarily unfair that they should go first to members who have proven their dedication. I could ask how is it fair that I have been with this group for several years and 3 or 4 new members suddenly grab all the free tickets. You can express your enthusiasm by showing up to the paid movies and then get a chance to get free tickets like the rest of us. There are only 2 free tickets to this anyway and they are taken.

I agree...how could the rules be made after the post is up and how is it my fault that I just found out about this group and moved into the city! It should be either a random draw from the names interested or first come, first serve like other equitable sites.

Sorry, meant to write: I'm new to this group so there's no chance in hell for me to attend any free screening, no?

Are we supposed to sign up for a membership with "Beyond the Rack"? It's a fashion discount site. That's where the link leads and it seems like a strange way to put ourselves on a list.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
