Drinks and The Shining

Hmmm should we look for a place that serves quality rum before revisiting a classic, or being introduced to it for the first time? The Adult Horror programmers are bringing The Shining to the big screen and you're invited. Once Ive decided on a place for us to enjoy some drinks before the movie than I will update the status. Until then here is a synopsis of the film:

THE SHINING
USA/UK, 119 min, OV
Director: Stanley Kubrick
Cast: Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, Scatman Crothers, Barry Nelson

When THE SHINING hit cinemas in 1980 many fans of the Stephen King novel were disappointed by the adaptation. Nowadays no best of list of horror movies or indeed of movies in general can afford to leave out Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece of madness and claustrophobia. The films iconographic images like the opening sequence in which the camera follows Jack Torrence' (Jack Nicholson) ascent to the remote Overlook hotel from above or like the scenes of Jack's little son Danny cycling through endless corridors riddled with phantasmagoric visions have been copied and ripped off time and again. None of the copies comes even close to the original which remains one of the scariest movies of all time.

HOW TO FIND ME: I will have a blue and white diagonal striped top with a white lace cardigan over it. The rubber ducky should give me away as well. If I cant make it to Voegelchen I will be at the Eiszeit Kino from 10:40pm. See you tonight :)

Hi folks, I have an office Christmas party to go to that starts at 6:30 but its out in the burbs so I wont be able to make it at 9pm. My suggestion:

Check out Voegelchen Cafe just around the corner from Eiszeit starting at 9pm, they have free entry and a live performance from and Australian and Uruguayan artist, the music is described as: an eclectic fusion of electro-acoustic vibes with a touch of ambience, all held together by fresh minimal grooves.

If I can meet you there earlier than 10 pm I will try. Otherwise I will be at the Eiszeit with my rubber ducky at 10:40. Eiszeit is in the second hinterhof of Zeughofstrasse so dont be scared if it looks like your goin through an alleyway.
