TU - Preview Night, $25 tickets

The preview night for Tribes was a big hit with the group, so I thought I would schedule the Meetup for TU on the preview as well.

I am really looking forward to this show, personally - it was Sir Ian McKellan's favourite in last years NZ International Arts Festival.

Ilona will host it, and will meet you in the foyer before the show for a chat. So why not join her for a great evening?

RSVP if you want to attend, and I will be in touch once your ticket is booked and ready to be paid for. If you have never attended Circa before, you will need to send your full name and phone number to [masked] so I can make your booking.

  • 15 June − 29 June

A majestic story of love, redemption, whanau and brotherhood.

Patricia Grace’s award-winning novel is the inspiration for this powerful return to the stage by celebrated playwright and director Hone Kouka.

Weaving together text and image, Tu is an epic tale set against 1940s Wellington, the battlefields of Monte Cassino and post-war Te Tairawhiti on the North Island’s East Coast. After years of self-imposed exile, old Tu is found and visited by his brother’s children. In search of answers, their presence triggers an unstoppable wave of memories that envelops Tu and forces him to confront and embrace the ghosts of his past.

Hone Kouka’s previous theatrical works include I, George Nepia, the internationally acclaimedWaiora and the 2004 New Zealand International Arts Festival premiere of The Prophet.

“… a profound experience that goes to the heart …” – Theatreview

“… a most engaging and dynamic piece of NZ theatre …” – The Dominion Post

“… this beautifully paced production is a standout …” – The Listener

“… my favourite, strongly performed and imaginatively staged …” – Sir Ian McKellen

I was thinking about going to this anyway but this opportunity is too good to miss. 1) a preview, 2) with a group and 3) on a friday night which is my favourite night to go out. Count me in for 1 ticket.

Hi David, I'm sorry, but RSVPs have closed for this event, as I have allocated all the seats reserved for the Meetup group. You are welcome to contact the Circa Box Office yourself on[masked] and book your own ticket - it won't be with the group, but you are free to join them before and after the show. Cheers, Cara

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
