SpaceUp UK

FINALLY! The ever popular international SpaceUp is finally coming to the UK. This is going to be the UK's first Space Up UK, let's go and talk space!

Guess what, it's going to be in the ever more lively London. Get tix here:

This is a 2 days Space unconference event where everyone is a speaker and a listener. It is all about exchanging knowledge and ideas all things Space. Early Bird Tickets is 25GBP until 25 May - that is the price for 2 days of events, where would you ever get that from?! And it's all going to happen at one of the top universities in the UK: Imperial College London - if you don't already know, it's a popular university ranking 3rd in Europe and 10th in the world overall. And we are going to talk space there!

Here is an unofficial guide to give you an idea on how to make the best out of the event:

RSVP on meetup would help us to understand if you want this kind of event to happen in the future. Otherwise we'll focus my efforts elsewhere, so please, RSVP here if you want to see more of these but **do get the ticket from the official site: ** RSVP yes to this meetup does not automatically give you ticket so you must register from the main Spaceup UK site.

This event is run by a small group of volunteers, which you can find information here:

The dates are fixed and the venue is confirmed. The agenda will be announced closer to date but it would be 2 days full of space-y stuff, start and end time might vary a bit. I'll keep you posted in the comment (if you have chosen to filter out comments or organiser's email, update that setting so you can receive notifications! We don't spam.)

This was my first SpaceUP, and first Unconference. Steph's talks on OpentTech would have been great to have attended, but they were in the small room, Steph was being too humble!
I love the freedom that the Unconference gives for proposing a talk and gathering people to talk about it, I should have been in a frame of mind to proposed a few talks myself, most talks kicked off without any presentations just people gathering for open conversations. I hope this is run again. I'll have to actually play Kerbal to talk about how good it is though!
The ParkBench idea might be quite good, although for some reason I sense the audience was getting dominated by several speakers.
Good to interact with Tim Peake, although the anti-Danish vibe / British jingoism for the astronaut long stay mission was galling since I'm half Danish.
