A DAY IN THE GARDEN — Open House with Sustainable Flatbush

Join us for our 3rd Saturday Garden and Compost Open House!

WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS WEEKEND:

GARDEN WITH US IN OUR NATIVE PLANT STREETSCAPE:
Participate in activities around pollination, pollinators, and gardening for wildlife with our resident expert Chris Kreussling, aka Flatbush Gardener

• We will dissect Daylilies — they are colorful, in bloom and have all the parts!
• We will learn about pollination, and the importance of pollinators — looking for pollinators in the gardens and on the grounds, and how to identify some common pollinators.

WORM BIN COMPOSTING WORKSHOP:
This hands-on workshop, which teaches the essentials of indoor composting with worms, is ideal for those who want to compost food scraps but do not have access to an outdoor space. Learn from garden educator Bruni Torras how easy it is to reduce the amount of food waste in your garbage. Take home a small bag of worm compost to spread on your own plants!

Every 3rd Saturday from May through November we'll host our Garden and Compost Open House, with fun new topics and workshops each month.
