Welcome to the world of DIY medicine cabinets and household cleaners straight from the garden. We will cover basic methods for creating tonics, bug repellents, ciders, and household cleaners from plants grown on the Wyckoff farm. Learn about some common medicinal plants you can grow at home that have a variety of uses around the house for both cleaning and promoting good health through the winter. Bring a 12 oz. jar to get started with your own tonic today!
This workshop is part of the free (faux)H series of hands-on workshops held at the Wyckoff farmhouse Museum, exploring traditional farm based skills: natural dying, alternative home economics, and preservation. Employing plants and crops grown on the Wyckoff farm, situated in the middle Brooklyn, (faux)H is a collaborative experiment in the lost art of learning-by-doing.
This workshop is intended for adults, and suitable for supervised young adults ages 13 and up.
Registration is required. Sign up for free online: http://wyckoffmuseum.org/education/summer-programs/urban-homesteading-workshops/
