Yes, I have grown vegetables, flowers and herbs.
I plant in West Harlem and would like to continue work in this area, but not opposed to a new and interesting project elsewhere. I have a garden plot at Riverbank State Park, participate with Jenny's efforts at RiverValley Community Garden, supervise the rehabilitation of the LARGE street median on Riverside (139th-142nd) with the approval of Riverside Park Fund, began to turn "rubble into rhubarb" in an empty lot on West 148th Street this year. Looking for more community participation.
Community garden, lobby, rooftop (!). Began a project with NY Horticultural Society to pursue a grant for a green/garden roof atop my building. We're stalled due to lack of a structural engineering assessment of the roof and weight bearing capacity. Hoping for an architect or firm able to donate their time and skills.
EnviHarlem, a community of volunteers in West Harlem working to highlight the importance of sustainability and to green our environment.
From Texas to Seattle to NYC. Actor/Environmentalist (writer/producer/director less frequently). Began to get reacquainted with my green roots about three years ago. This has led to a career reassessment. I live in West Harlem.
