Do you grow food now or do you want to start growing food?

Yes, and am always ripe (haha) for learning more.

What neighborhood in NYC do you farm or want to farm?

I am available for hire in the metro NYC region.

Where do you grow food or want to grow food (i.e. community garden, back or front yard, window sill, rooftop farm, etc)?

I'd like to learn more about vertical growing and permaculture and rooftop growing.

What is the name of your project or farm (if relevant)?

GIFT Garden Project (Greenpoint), and Tasting Awareness (wherever I go).

Please describe your project or farm (if relevant).

Currently: Installing SIPs on a deck in Orange County. My last NYC project: The backyard of a small synagogue (20x30) donated to grow to feed an interfaith-run soup-kitchen, volunteer-run now. We peaked at avg 15 lbs/wk, now at about 6-8 lbs. We use some permaculture, want vines, hope to expand to rooftop or mosque backyard.

Introduction

I started the GIFT Garden Project in Greenpoint: supplies a soup kitchen. Founded Tasting Awareness to give people an intro to a healthy sustainable-food lifestyle from compost to kitchen, using SIPs, permaculture & cooperative structures for health.

What Natalie is saying about this Meetup Group

Great for the first time. Thank you, Owen Taylor for bringing Phil to teach us and making it happen at Taqwa.
