Do you enjoy excellent innovative food in a nice upscale environment? Do you like dinner conversations with interesting, like-minded people? But you also really like burgers? You don’t just like them, you are fascinated and obsessed with a good burger? Then this group is for you. We like to explore what upscale restaurants in Silicon Valley have to offer in terms of burgers: from traditional to some very innovative interpretations of what a burger could be.
But the experience is not just about the burger. A good burger asks for a great bottle of red wine. From California a Zin goes really well with our object of obsession. From the old world there’s nothing that compares to a Côtes du Rhône enjoyed with a well made burger. A Martini isn’t a bad accompaniment either. And to start things off, civilized appetizers like tuna tartar or foie gras are good ways to build anticipation.
If that all sounds appealing to you, we’d like you to join us. We will explore restaurants like James Randall and Cin-Cin in Los Gatos, LB Steak and Village Bistro in Santana Row, Mayfield Bakery in Palo Alto. Groups members will add more suggestions. And I will try to convince a few more chefs of upscale restaurants to add a burger to their menu. We will have events roughly once per month. Typically on the weekend. We will limit it to 10 people per event so we can have a civilized discussion across the whole table and can exchange and discuss our burger philosophies.
