What we’re about

It’s COVID no more! Still, your Classic/Indie Movie Group continues to collaborate with the Boston International/Arthouse Movie Meetup Group to our mutual benefit. Having programmed films together weekly for over three years now, both online and in-person, we see no reason to quit now. Most weeks we view individually a film for rent online selected by our organizers and come together on Saturday nights at 7:20p for conversation via Zoom. Now that theaters have reopened, we're folding in our previous routine again, taking in a movie one weekend out of four at a local Boston arthouse such as the Brattle, the Harvard Film Archive, or the Coolidge Corner, followed by conversation at a nearby restaurant. (In addition, our Assistant Organizers stage Boston outings every so often as they’re led.) We your organizers, John, Shirley, and Carter, are doing our best to make all this happen and are thoroughly enjoying ourselves – we hope you can say that too.

HOW THIS WORKS
Carter, plus Shirley and John of Boston International/Arthouse, post a movie early in the week. For online events, rental information is explained in the posting, and members screen individually during the week. There's typically a 48-hour viewing period from the time you first hit PLAY. A Zoom discussion follows every Saturday night from 7:20-8:50. For everyone who RSVPs, a Zoom link will appear in a box to the right of the event page; use that the night of the discussion. For our ventures out to theaters, information on the date, time, and venue of the movie will be included in the post: RSVP as you can and will.

Please feel free to reply to this message with your comments, concerns and questions. We're pleased at the attendance we're getting and your thoughtful feedback. Let it continue! We hope to "see" you this week.

Yours, The Management ;)
